not-so-current: an autumn update + fun stuff!
Yo! I've been meaning to update, but, alas, the change of seasons has brought a mix of business and laziness that has caused me to neglect this lil' blog. So this entry may be a little random.
Jeff & Sharon's wedding. That was a great time, huh? All you out-of-towners. So good to see everyone. Tim's best man speech was fan-tastic! Sharon looked beautiful. And we all got our boogie on. Woo!
Harvestfest. It was a perfect fall day. There was a pumpkin carving contest and apple bobbing (can't wait to see those pictures...) and s'mores and Pumpkin Beer.
When I arrived, Emily greeted me holding her companion for the day, a cute gray kitten. I asked what the kitty's name was and she said "Filtered." I wondered about that for a few days. Where did she come up with that? Then a co-worker told me that Bob the Builder's cat's name is Pilfert. I bet that's what she meant :)
Ben won the pumpkin carving contest. For the rest of us novices, here's some resources to make us master-carvers like ben: Here's some downloadable patterns that are pretty basic. This site has more intricate templates based on movies and television shows. These are cute. Or maybe I should just stick to virtual pumpkin carving. Oh, and pumpkin eating! Yesterday (Oct. 24) a neat food blog called Slashfood had it's "great Pumpkin Day," where it featured all kinds of interesting Pumkin information such as some canned pumpkin info, and Lots of recipes. Yum!
In other news, it's almost November(!!!!!!), so Happy Early Thanksgiving!
