hoppy easter everybody!
and now for a much happier bunny-related post :)
if you haven't seen these already, they are hilarious! 30-second bunny theatre. Some of your favorite films (jaws, it's a wonderful life, etc.) re-enacted by cute bunnies.

add a little silliness to your life
I just read an entry in this Blog about things you can do to make your days less..."everyday."
Here's her list of suggestions:
-don't shower for a month (document the process)
-choose random themes for your day (ie. rubber day, staple everything day, day of transparency)
-try keeping a marble in your mouth for 12 hours.
-tell every stranger you meet it's your birthday
-wear two different shoes
-on your way to work leave a 'trail', (crumbs, rocks, candy, etc)
-take a vow of silence
-put something small on your body somewhere and see how long it stays (ie. a pea behind your ear, a feather in your underwear).
-dye all your food blue for a week.
-name all your furniture (with human names, bob, freda, carl)
-attempt to 'bring back' an outmoded fashion (ie. the top hat, gauchos, the sombrero, the michael jackson jacket)
-create an indoor hopscotch game.
-make a footprint stamp and track everywhere you walk in a day.
-create a "made up" family album, out of photos you find of strangers.
-wear safety glasses and ask people if they like your new frames.
-give a lecture on a subject you know nothing about. Wing it.
and just so you know, a quaker oatmeal square placed between my glasses and my eyebrow only stayed in place for the amount of time it took to type the first sentence :)

Jeff writes into Dave Glover on 97.1 fm Talk
Dave -
I love that you address paranormal issues. These issues need to be
brought out in the open and discussed.
However, Lynch, seems to be about as knowledgeable about the paranormal
as anyone who has spent too many hours browsing the internet and taking
in anything they read as fact. Dave, you seem to be "somewhat" informed
on the paranormal, yet you are able to slam Lynch constantly on his
"facts".
This is an embarassment to the paranormal community, and it further
discredits the subject. While I appreciate the issue being brought up,
please don't have Lynch on as a "paranormal expert"......
If you want to have someone who will back up everything he says with
facts, and has actually had hearings in front of the Senate, you should
try to get one of the following on your show: Dr. Steven Greer
(www.disclosureproject.org)
There are others as well (Steve Bassett has been on fox news a few times
and was interviewed during the Mexico UFO sighting recently)
These people would put Lynch to shame...
Thanks
Jeff

Recognize anyone on the front page of this week's St. Louis Business Journal?

Christy's very own Al Gonzelez was picked as one of the top 26 Minority Business Leaders "you need to know." And we do know him! Woo!
Here's the feature story. Here's the part about Al.
Congrats, Al!

beatlemaniacs
Last night Lucy took Dan, Christy, Annie and I to see "1964, A Tribute" at the Pageant. They're a Beatles tribute band. They do a great job of sounding and looking like the guys, so we had a lot of fun. Except Dan forgot his I.D. and got kicked out for holding a beer...right before the band went on. He and Lucy went home for the ID and made it back for the second half of the show. I thought I'd share some neat-o Beatles links:
The guys' childhood homes.
Beatles Songfacts. Great informational tidbits about all your favorite songs, like Blackbird and Glass Onion. awesome!
Elanor Rigby Mad Libs!
The Ultimate Beatles Quiz.
I was fortunate enough to visit the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame while they had the John Lennon exibit. He's of course my favorite Beatle, and in general one of my favorite people of all time. They had a round room filled with his hand-written song lyrics. It was really powerful being in the same room as his personal writings. I had to sit down. I may have cried a little.
The Beatles and the Simpsons. 2 greats...united.
This site has a quiz to see what album cover you are. I'm "Let it be."
Some of John Lennon's art I saw a traveling exibit of this once, too. I like his art. Simple, happy. There were some collages at the Hall of fame exibit, too. They were pretty.

the best medicine
Not to make this into a health blog, but I got this little article from a mailing list I'm on (a groovy fun site called Our Lady of Weightloss...check it out!) and I thought a lot of you would be interested in reading it. It's about the health benefits of laughter:
"Kids laugh on average, 400 times a day, while adults get in just 15 chuckles.
Laughing 100 times is the equivalent to a 10 minute workout on the rowing machine
or 15 minutes on an exercise bike!
Laughter is made up of a series of short vowel-like sounds repeated every 210 milliseconds (one thousandth of a second). Laughter almost always occurs during a pause at the end of a phrase or at the end of the sentence. You can either laugh in the "ho-ho-ho" style or the "ha-ha-ha" style but you can't mix the two. Humor and laughter are two different things and up to 80% of laughter is not in response to a joke! Women laugh 126% more often than men (Are you surprised?). And there is evidence that laughter is medically beneficial.
Suffering from a collagen disease, Norman Cousins checked into a hotel room and watched one funny movie after another. He laughed! Mr. Cousins found that ten minutes of really big laughs gave him two pain-free hours of sleep. And he also found that laughter, in time, cured his disease. How amazing is that? (Very!)
Laughter makes us feel good both physiologically and psychologically.
Is it believed that LAUGHTER ~
* Reduces levels of certain stress hormones.
* Boosts the immune system by stimulating the thymus gland.
* May lead to hiccupping but will dislodge mucus plugs from the respiratory tract! (How attractive!)
* Gives you a full body workout (works the diaphragm and abdominal, respiratory, facial and back muscles).
* Ever feel exhausted after the giggles? You just had an aerobic workout. (My kind of exercise!)
* Gets those positive endorphins pumping! Laughter invokes feelings of happiness and joy!
* Promotes creative thoughts.
* Stimulates both sides of the brain.
* Creates bonding with your fellow human. Robert Provine, a neuroscientist at the University of Maryland, has studied laughter for more than a decade. Provine found that we laugh 30 times more often in social situations than when hanging solo. Nothing better than a shared laugh!
Laughter is contagious. Spread it wide and far! "
On that note, let me know if you have anything that will make us all laugh! Be it a link or joke or amusing anecdote. Or you could let Tim know...as he is a new contributor to this little blog!
