steph's book club
I read this book over a year ago, but a friend of mine just reminded me of it yesterday. It's called "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime." It's about a young teenage boy who's autistic, and a mystery of his neighbor's murdered dog. It's a really neat perspective. Easy to read, fun, touching, interesting and eye-opening. Here's one of the reviews for it, in case you want to learn more about it. It's one of those books I'd recommend to pretty much anyone. Even younger folks (It won a children's book award, but it's got some more mature issues in it, so maybe for teens...)
Are there any books out there that you would recommend to everyone?

I recommend the series called Otherland by Tad Williams. By far and away the BEST sci-fi series (the Lord of the Rings of the new century).

I just reserved the first on at the Library's web site, but 770 pgs.? we'll see how that goes :)
I don't read much Sci-Fi, but a few months ago I read Stanger In a Strange Land. It was very very very good. Have you read that one? You'd like it, if you haven't. Tim, too.
Sorry to hear about the controversy. I hadn't heard anything about it, nor did I notice anything odd about the invite. Oh well...drama for our little blog...fun!
